- The Lakota shell is a new concept in UNIX shells. It provides a convenient way
- for software developers to build applications or tie applications together
- using the Lakota integration language. The shell can execute commands directly
- from the user and enable the user to execute sophisticated shell scripts from
- either files or memory locations where they can be created ''on the fly'' by
- applications
-
- The Lakota shell enables you to have a common user interface on all platforms
- from a variety of vendors with a variety of operating systems. The Lakota shell
- is a UNIX shell whose interface command language is the Lakota language. Lakota
- shell commands are either predefined Lakota language elements, underlying host
- operating system commands, or user-defined commands (see the Lakota language
- description).
